Sis, Let Me Remind You Who TF You Are

A Powerful Reminder that Settling was Never the Assignment.

You were meant for more.

Hey Sis. I’m feeling edgy, honest, and raw.
Stuff is weighing on my soul. And I feel it’s time to put it out there and remind you who you are.
I’ve been seeing too many women out here settling for less, shrinking, silencing themselves, and calling it survival.
I’m seeing too many women settle for less, not because they lack potential.
It’s because somewhere along the line, they forgot they were entitled to more.

Let me just say it: stop settling for less.
That was never your life assignment.
And that’s why I’m here!

Sis, Let Me Remind You Who TF You Are.

You didn’t come this far, survive all your shit, and show up time and time again just to fall back, forget your power or let life escape you.
Nope. Not today. That’s not what we’re doing!

You are the person who holds it down when everything around you is falling apart like a dollar-store lawn chair. You’re the one pouring into people from an empty cup; smiling when you want to scream, and hiding your tears when you all you really want to do is let them flow.

What about the woman in the mirror?
God only knows how many fires you’ve put out without anyone even knowing you were burning up inside.
And now, you’re doubting yourself and your worth.
You’re questioning what you deserve and wondering if you’re “too much” or “not enough.”

Stop listening to that loud-ass inner critic (with zero credentials) that’s flooding your subconscious and acting like the CEO of your life.

Pause.
Breathe.
And listen.

You are powerful.
And I’m not saying that for inspiration.
I’m stating a fact. One that deserves to be shouted from every rooftop.

You’ve been carrying burdens so heavy, they should come with a tow truck and a damn forklift.
Yes, they knocked you down.
And you got back up.
That’s because you got that pull-yourself-up, still-standing, “you can’t break me” kind of power.
It’s not new or borrowed.
It’s always been yours.
I’m talking about the kind of strength that makes ancestors proud and makes mediocrity uncomfortable.

I get it, life be living, and sometimes, you forget. You’ve had your shine dimmed by people who couldn’t handle your light, and maybe, just maybe, you believed them.

Here’s the truth.
You’re not too Loud. Bold or Emotional.
Your presence should never shrink; it should take up space instead.
You are entitled to lead, to speak, to create, to disrupt, to love out loud, and to make things better simply by being in the room.
You are not too anything for anyone who’s meant to walk beside you.

So today, let’s stop negotiating your worth.
Let’s stop editing yourself to fit inside someone else’s comfort zone.
Let’s stop waiting for the perfect time, perfect circumstances, perfect hair—hell, just go with the messy ponytail and keep it moving.

You don’t need permission. You are the permission.

It’s time to show up as the whole you.
The woman who has been through the storm learned how to dance in the rain and now walks like she owns the forecast.

Let them underestimate and doubt you.
Let them talk.

Because you, Sis, are fire.
Remember who you are, and handle your business.

Raise hell.
Raise standards.
Move like they’ve been warned.

Before you raise hell and standards, here’s one more thing:
If you want to keep this energy going, TED curated a playlist called Talks for When You Feel Like You’re Not Enough.”
Because sometimes the reminder has to come from every angle.

And when you need the reminder again?
I’ll be right here, saying it louder:
You are Her. You’ve always been Her.
You just needed a little nudge.
